 Recognising your needs is the first step towards nurturing yourself and embracing the importance of self-care. Many women often overlook their own desires and requirements, focusing instead on the needs of others. This tendency can lead to feelings of depletion and resentment. 

 By learning to recognise what you truly need, you can begin to shift your focus and prioritise yourself, allowing for a healthier balance in your life.

Prioritize time for things you love


Mindfulness

 Mindfulness is a powerful tool in recognising your needs. By practising mindfulness and meditation, you can cultivate an awareness of your thoughts and feelings. This heightened awareness allows you to identify when you are feeling overwhelmed or neglected. Taking a few moments each day to breathe deeply and tune into your body can reveal insights about your emotional and physical needs that may otherwise go unnoticed.



Skin Care and Beauty Routines

 Incorporating natural skincare and beauty routines into your daily life can also serve as a reminder to honour your needs. Engaging in rituals that promote self-care, such as applying a soothing face mask or indulging in a relaxing bath, can not only enhance your appearance but also nourish your spirit. For instance, lavender may soothe anxiety, while citrus scents can energise and uplift. Rose and bergamot were my go-to's after work for relaxation while peppermint and lemon were used in the car to lift morning brain fog. 

 Experimenting with different oils can provide clarity and insight into your emotional landscape, allowing you to create a personalised self-care practice that aligns with your needs.

Journaling

Journaling is another effective method for recognising your needs. By putting pen to paper, you can explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe space. Writing about your day, your challenges, and your desires can uncover patterns and insights that you may not have been aware of. This practice can empower you to articulate your needs and take actionable steps towards fulfilling them, ultimately leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
